1. I am writing about Cecily Brow who's work has been criticized a lot on Painters NYC blog.
2.The criticism here is somehow personal and somehow not. The General criticism in theses comments is about the fact that Cecily Brown Has pushed the dekooningesque to new space and Have made her own brush strokes out of it, Although she was inspired By Dekooning brush strokes at first It.It has been said that her work is very sexual and the fastness of her brush strokes adds more to the intensity of the sexuality in her pieces.
3.The main aim of these criticisms in which most of them tend to be positive are describing three main ideas: Sexuality in Browns work, Pushing the brush strokes forward and making them personalized and the intensity or the fastness that she had applied paint on canvas it energizes her work.
4. There are many ideas in the comments that I have read in this blog. The relation that I can find here is about the way that she applies paint on canvas .I have noticed that Cecily Brown is also shows her work in the interior or landscape context plus adding sexuality into it. It is certain that this criticism show the main ideas about Browns work.
5.By reading these criticism, I believe there are few elements that I need to be more aware while painting. As I noticed most people judge the book by the cover. Somehow I Think that creating an image that has reference point is very important . It basically means that I need to learn semiotics. I can create a painting with certain intentions and people read it the other way so by understanding this I can convey my message better across the audience.

1. Cecily Brown painting is figurative painting. Her process is very fast. What I mean by that is she paint very fast. she paints wet over wet and her medium is oil color. Her paintings are about a narrative. Her work depicts; Tension, sex and voyeurism.
2.Clair Sherman work deals with idea of repersention versus abstraction. Her work is very sharp and even the way that she creates her composition makes her work very contemporary. Her work demands lots of calculation just to apply paint on canvas. The way that her images come out also have some digital qualities.
3. Dana Schutz is also somewhere between abstraction and represention. Her subjects are basically everyday objects that she personalize them. Also her colors have tendency to remind one about pop culture.
4.Fabian Marcaccio is also a figurative artist who again mixes figuration with abstraction. His work is much more closer to Cecily Brown in terms of applying brush strokes. However, in some of his work he combines college as well which is a different ally.
5.Daniel Richter paintings deals again with the idea of tension and intoxication. His work has darker pallet compare to the other artist that I mentioned above however the work is till figurative. His work process of creation is not fast as Cecily Brown.
6. Linda Geary work is none representational abstract. Her work tend to be so much like amy silman. Her work is very metaphorical and well compositional.
I find both Daniel Richter and Cecily Brown as the artist that my work can be related to.
My work is close to Cecily Brown because the both are figurative and there are signs of gestural strokes in both work. Both work have natives and all though there are figure in both but at the same time they are metaphorical.

I also see so much similarities between my work and Daniel Richter too. his work and my work are full of naretives but what is less in my is the references. both work deals with the dark side of life. His work is much figurative than mine and has much more historical content. By knowing this I need to find different elements in my work to make it work. the process of working needs to slow down and concept behind my work needs to be more digested before coming to reality.
